Amy Wilson’s small-scale watercolor drawings are unique reflections of the her creative process, in that each incorporates tiny, hand-written texts. Through her work Amy explores the tensions that exist between her private interior world, and the public world surrounding her. Her stories and observations, as well as commentary on current events and personal experiences, reveal the artist in an intimate way.
The figures in each print depict a “chorus” of young girls, all of whom Amy see as an extension of herself and a representation of her many voices. Each print is therefore a unique piece of the Amy’s inner world, as manifested in the beautiful watery gem tones of her imagined landscape.
